#ucuRISING: Overview

Key Demands
These are the demands which underpin our campaign:
pay rise of RPI + 2% or 12% whichever is larger
meaningful agreement with UCEA on casualisation to be implemented by universities
meaningful agreement with UCEA on workload to be implemented by universities
agreement with UCEA to address equality pay gaps
UUK should agree to withdraw their benefit cuts and put pressure on USS to restore benefits to 2021 levels as soon as possible.
UUK should put strong pressure on USS to ensure that all subsequent valuations are moderately prudent and evidence based.
What to Expect
You will receive two ballot papers in one envelope and with one return envelope for both ballots. Please complete and return your ballots at the earliest opportunity.
You will receive have you voted communications from both branch and UK level. We will do our utmost to avoid asking you again once you have already notified that you have voted but please accept our apologies if we fail to achieve this.
Local have you voted emails will come from a dedicated address and notifications should be sent back to that address.
There will be further campaigning emails sent to all members throughout the ballot period. This will update you on key issues whether you have voted by then or not.
There will be additional meetings called as required throughout the ballot period.
Get Involved
Active members are key to our success
Local Contacts are our eyes and ears on the ground. They arre also the visible face of the union in schools and departments. Those who are alreasdy local contacts will be central to our GTVO operation, so watch out for communications on this. If you are not a local contact butwould like to be, please contact our Membership Secretary, Sue Sierra. You can check our list of local contacts to see who is a local contact in your area. IFor areas whichalready have any local contacts, volunteers are particularly encouraged.
