UCU's education programme offers its network of Reps & activists a wide range of courses. Courses run on a regional basis enabling participants to meet & work alongside UCU members from branches within their region.
Courses in Scotland
In-person in Glasgow, 22, 23, 24, April, 2026
This course is aimed at new reps/caseworkers and activists who will be undertaking this role in the near future.
Online, 1, 8, 15, June, 2026
This course is for reps who have completed UCU's Rep 1, H&S 1, or our introduction to case work and are now actively engaged in representing individual members. The course also assumes you are actively engaged with your branch and understand UCU's democratic structures both in the branch and nationally.

This introduction is a course for reps who are new to representing individual members or those who are considering becoming more involved in the direct representation of members.
