Welcome Week strike

Plans, teach-outs and picket locations for the Welcome Week strike, 8-12 September 2025

General plan and schedule

Monday 8 September: Local pickets from 9 am until 11am, and a rally at George Square from noon until 1:30 pm.

Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 September: Local pickets from 9am until noon, with plans to leaflet at Welcome Week events in Bristo Square on Tuesday (Postgraduate Students Welcome) and Wednesday (Student Information Fair).

Friday 12 September: Two concentrated pickets, one at King’s Buildings, one at Old College, from 9am until noon. Teach-outs from 12:30 to 1:30pm. Social @ Summerhall from 4:40pm onwards.
